Been picking away at the dream of a backbone server network in gigabit for, oh, six months. Looks like this can come true this week with one last wire pull. That will mean that all of our nfs and smb mounts between servers can be isolated to the server network and we can speed up things like backups and video transfer significantly.
On another front we have twin laptops that arrived Friday and are ready to be kitted-out for service. This should be a good test of our documentation for standardized classes of desktops, or at least the staff class. This should add some zip for Pastors Nancy and Greg. Of course, Carl will be point-person on this.
I did get the trouble vm reloaded and upgraded, so it’s available but I’d like to see about having it authenticate from the test ldap server. I’d like to focus on this a bit with the group so that we can begin recording our “trouble” and dealing with it in a methodical way.
And maybe, just maybe, we’ll find some time to sit and talk about documentation, an upcoming CTI article we’ll be quoted in, the shopping list for the CE Wing and planning to plan for an ERP system. We could talk about it over donuts. Mmmm, donuts…
