Let’s Get IT Together

Quite a post title given that I’m writing this less than 24 hours before we’ll meet, eh?
Now that we’re beyond Broadway, it’s time to do the DesktopScrum(tm) delayed from the ThirdThursday. With Carl at the helm, and the monthly regularity, this is becoming a not-so-exciting and not-so-huge event - Congrats Carl! As part of this we need to work on the Contemporary Console to ensure that we can play DVDs within EasyWorship like we can from the Traditional Console. The second part we need to do is confirm the application list for staff machines installs since: (i) we’d like to rekit the two Soltek boxes in 32bit WinXPP instead of x64; and (ii) we will have two new laptops to kit up next week (they shipped this morning from Mississauga).
I have several things I’m working on that need review as we move towards a more planned and documented system (hence the post title). I’d like us to look over the test LDAP server I have on my laptop and see if it makes sense to folks. If so, then we’ll put it up on our machines and inch forward to the next thing. I’ve also been working on a IT documentation project and ChIS plan and both could stand some comments.
Lastly, we’ve been asked to put together a budget for AVIT in the new CEWing. I think we need to (by area) identify the items, their owners, cost and priority so that the Building Committee (or whoever it is that makes the money decisions) has a clear picture of what money will need to be found before the building is a go.
Speaking of new CEWing gear, I eBayed a 48 port switch that we need to try out. If we like it we might see if it’s twin is still available.
And of course there’s donuts. I’ll buy a full dozen since SpiceBoy will be in attendance

Sorry I didn’t make it out!!!!! I was supposed to and I got buried under the hood of the truck and time doesn’t exist under there I’m afraid and Mother forgot to remind me!!!! My deepest apologies. Good news is only 8 weeks left of school!!!
