Steady as she goes…
March 30, 2009 |
Under our new policy of making work fit the time allowed I feel better. I hope others do too. There is indeed a feeling of freedom in knowing that God has already saved the world and since we’re with his plan, we don’t need to be so frantic in our efforts.
This week we need to continue with our plans for post-Easter system modifications. These include documenting standard installs for end users with Windows. Methinks that means defining a couple of a categories of use and the corresponding needs for those categories, but Carl can (and should) correct me.
Over doughnuts last week, and with a little more on Sunday, Kevin gave me some good insight into organizing around mapping users -> groups -> resources and I’ll be doing some work on that in hopes that I can test populate the directory server for some AVIT needs and see how it works. This should allow us to resurrect the trouble machine with SpiceWorks and begin our road back to monitoring our network.
I hardly want to say this in print, but we also need to test our data backup script and make sure that it works. Once we know it does, it should form the pattern for backing up all machines (or at least the pertinent files) to the backup machine.
In with all of this, we need to replace a bulb in one of the Contemporary Service Leikos and while we’re at it check the aim for the both of them.
