Math Games For Mind Improvement

March 2nd, 2008 by games1234

Math has been recognized for it’s mental benefits for many years.Figuring numbers improves your concentration, memory, problem solving skills, and general clarity of thought in general.

To gain these benefits, you don’t have to work out complicated formulas, all you need is a few minutes each day practicing some simple math games.

And before you hurry out to purchase the latest Xbox console and software, realize that numbers are all around you…

Notice the clock on your computer. Usually it’s located in the lower right-hand corner of your computer screen.

The 24-hour clock works the best. On my computer right now, the time reads 16:38.

There are all kinds of creative games you can play with this. Here are ten to get you started:

1 Add the single digits from left to right:

1 + 6 + 3 + 8 = (say “7… 10… 18″)

2 Add the single digits from right to left:

8 + 3 + 6 + 1 = (say “11… 17.. 18″)

3 Add the inner and outer digits together, then add the resulting pairs together:

1 + 8 = 9

6 + 3 = 9

and so 9 + 9 = 18

4 Add the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results:

1 + 6 = 7 and 3 + 8 = 11

7 x 11 = 77

5 Subtract the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results:

1 from 6 = 5

3 from 8 = 5

5 x 5 = 25

6 Multiply the single digits on either side of the colon, and multiply the results:

1 x 6 = 6 and 3 x 8 = 24

6 x 24 = 144

7 Add the two-digit numbers either side of the colon:

Add 16 to 38 to get 54

8 Take away the two-digit numbers either side of the colon:

Subtract 16 from 38 to get 22

9 Divide the two-digit numbers either side of the colon:

Divide 16 into 38 to get 2.375

10 Multiply the two-digit numbers either side of the colon:

Multiply 16 by 38 to get… 608

You can do the above exercises several times a day as you wish.

Do these games anytime you have spare time, like when you’re on hold for a telephone representative.

You may not turn into a mathematical genius, but you’ll certainly keep your brain sharp!

Hello world!
