Democracy Video PLayer - Auto Download video and watch them on tv through your xbox360
Are you one of millions of computer zombies trapped in front of a computer for 8 hours a day who is addicted to fun online videos? Are you also lazy? If so “Democracy Video Player” will be your new best friend. Democracy atomatically downloads video via RSS feeds that you set. The program will populate the “My Videos” folder with new content which is checked either every hour or every 30 mins. It’s very easy to set up and takes very little time.
Here’s a step by step guide:
1. Download Democracy Player 
2. Install Democracy Player
3. Open Democracy Player
4. Double click “Channel Guide” - Sift through all the free feeds.
You can add up to 1000 stations.
5. If you plan on watching these videos on your xbox360 make sure that your computer and xbox360 are networked and sharing media. If you do not have this setup already, then read this to figure it out: Xbox360 network setup . (make sure you have Media Player 11 installed on your PC.)
6. The Xbox360 will only play .WMV files so in Democracy you have to make sure that any RSS feed you add in the ” add channel ” (ctrl + N) is a wmv feed. Here are some .wmv rss feeds that I have found:
- Rocketboom - Techy fun podcast which discusses geek culture and fun websites . http://www.rocketboom.com/vlog/win_media_player_daily_enclosures.xml
- CommandN - Techy fun podcast starring Amber MacArthur http://feeds.feedburner.com/commandN_WMV
- Diggnation - Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht drink and discuss the most popular stories from Digg.com http://feeds.feedburner.com/commandN_WMV
- Crooksandliars.com - A website which posts clips from various news shows from CNN, FOX, NBC, CBS…etc. http://feeds.feedburner.com/crooksandliars/YaCP (this feed includes .wmv AND .mov but only the .wmv videos will play on the xbox360.)
Make sure that you clean out your my video folder at least once a week as this program uses a LOT of hard drive space.
