No more nipple rings.
So I decided that today was the day I retire my childhood.
When I was 18, I decided to get my left nipple pierced…I guess just because well, I could. Last year I pierced the other.
Shocked?
Not too many people knew I had them. I always found it funny if I’m at a beach or pool and someone would say HOLY SHIT YOU HAVE YOUR NIPPLES PIERCED? Usually older people would roll their eyes and laugh, especially my mom.
The very first day of work of my current job was quite extraordinary. I met my new co-workers on board of the Carleton II as we were bound for Gagetown. It was one of the most memorable moments of my year. It was a very hot day. I started mingling about video games, new media, and technology as I downed sipped some Keith’s while admiring the view from the upper deck.
Some people decided to lay out in the sun and tan after a few drinks, so I decided to take my shirt off and enjoy some sun as well. The moment my first boss saw my piercings he lost his shit. He was not expecting to hire a computer geek with nipple rings. He recently told me that it was one of the funniest things he’s ever seen!
Although I’ve been harassed by many, I think having one pierced for last 9 years was worth seeing people’s reactions. I don’t recommend getting one done if you have a low tolerance to pain. It is definitely THE most painful experiences of my life…next to being hit by a car.
